Real Estate Investing and Parties

I was invited to a party the other night and having a vague knowledge of the party hosts, I really didn't feel like attending.

The truth of the matter is that I have been asked to go to parties just like this one, in the past, where I don’t know the hosts, but at my girl friend's insistence, I always end up going.

Why didn’t I want to go?

I had, in my mind, created a false sense of fear of attending…which, thankfully, was not at all based on reality.

I had pictured myself alone and awkward at the party, standing there in the corner of the room, earnestly trying to find something to talk about with someone - even though I tried really hard, I always had a hard time connecting with other people that I did not know. I never was able to find something that I could talk to other people easily about, the convos were always awkward, plus the music playing too loud in the background and I was just plain miserable.

That is pretty much how I always used to picture myself at a party.

Haven't most of us, at least at some point in time, felt like this?

These are the kinds of parties you go to where you think to yourself that you would rather be at the dentist than suffering through this utter social torture….

What if I had pictured a different outcome instead?

So instead of being all by myself in the corner of the room…imagine if I had pictured being engaged in a great experience, surrounded by awesome and interesting people interested in what I had to say, taking part in great conversation, while enjoyable music played in the background, very relaxed and at ease, enjoying myself and my new found friends?

If had pictured THIS scenario instead, do you think, just maybe, that I would have been more open to attending the party?

How this Relates to the House Flipping Mindset

Imagine being able to change this sort of perception not just when faced with a party choice…but when you are about to make your first house flipping deal?

Imagine that you have worked very hard for over a year in order to begin your career in real estate and you have finally found the perfect property to buy. All signs are saying move forward, they're all telling you to go for it. You've finally found a fair price, you have good financing, you have a handle on expected costs and know with 99% accuracy what you can get for resale.

However you imagine all of this just falling apart, with the house sitting on the market for months and years, as you sit there, helpless, watching your profit deteriorate…

What are the chances that you are you going to do this house flip?

Not unless you change the PERCEPTION of pain versus pleasure.

Now, instead, picture the house selling for 1/3 more than expected, in less than two weeks, giving you and your backers a full return on their investment.

This is the mindset you must adopt. We like to call it the House Flipping Mindset.

What this is not is just a wild assumption that all will go perfect only because you think it ought to...that is not true at all. You really need an awesome strategy and gameplan of steps that lessens the chance of the bad deal - in oder to place yourself in a position to recieve the value and awesome experiences instead of focusing on the pain .

And above all to achieve this positive mindset, once you have done all that you need to then create a picture of success in your mind as to all you have to GAIN by doing the deal.

This is the mindset you need to flip houses and the first step to making any success real estate investing, or house flipping career.
