Real Estate Investing and Partying with New People

Last week I was asked to attend a party and having a vague knowledge of the party hosts, I did not feel like attending the party one bit.

The fact of the matter is that I have been asked to go to parties just like this one, in the past, where I don’t know the hosts, but with my girl friend pushing me, of course I end up in attendance.

What's the reason I did not want to attend?

I had created a completely PERCEIVED feeling of fear of going…without any real basis in reality.

I had imagined myself standing awkwardly in the corner, trying so hard to think of something to talk to someone about - and no matter how hard I tried, I struggled to make a connection. I never was able to find something that I could talk to other people easily about, the conversations always seemed so awkward, add in some obnoxious music and I always had a bad time.

This was how I had pictured myself at this party.

Haven't most of us, at least at some point in time, felt like this?

I'm talking about the kind of parties you go to where you think to yourself you would rather actually be having a root canal than suffering through this agonizing torture….

What if I had pictured a different outcome instead?

Instead of being alone in the corner…imagine if I had pictured being surrounded by people interested in what I had to say, fully engaging in conversation, while enjoyable music played in the background, feeling completely comfortable and at ease?

If had pictured THIS scenario instead, do you think I would have still wanted to not attend the event?
