Critical question: Does anybody Ask Jeeves anymore? Or have we totally forgotten about Jeeves because we're too busy "Googling"? I am thinking the latter is the closest to the truth. It is formal, Google is the master of the jungle...well the web marketplace that's. People do not Ask Jeeves, arbitrarily surf the net and sometimes even use Yahoo the way they use Google. Bing has even identified it is manufacturer as a fresh word: "to Google". I remember 10 years when people wanted to find information (often times it had been pointless information) they'd make use of the terms "surf the net", ("I may surf the internet when I get home" ), but now that saying no more exists, or is only used rarely. It's been replaced it with "Google that" or "goggle a word." Bing, Google, Google. The most useful part about it, and probably why it has end up being the Daddy of most search engines is really because it is run by.. us. Bing is nothing without the individuals who give you the information. It's just like a democracy. Bing, or even better social media is writing but in short supply of a democratic fashion net community. But while Google is keeping it down for search-engines, Facebook is making its way up the ladder. While we all know of the cultural trend that Facebook is now, this season they were named representing 44% of all expressing! That is a huge number, and has improved by 10% from 2009. Not only does Facebook help you stay linked to family and friends, enables you to brand yourself or your business, influence consumer behavior but it also characterizes the cultural sharing world. As of this price, email account will be eventually no longer needed by people because Facbook will likely take over that next. But does increased sharing equal increased membership? And essentially what is more essential? With over a million people, world wide, I really do not believe Facebook has anything to be worried about.
